Ghana all-inclusive holidays

If you are picturing a wristband and a buffet by the pool, Ghana works a little differently. Here is an honest look at what is realistic and how a fully-arranged trip compares.

The short answer

  • Ghana is not a mass all-inclusive resort destination in the Caribbean or Mediterranean sense.
  • What you can have is a fully-arranged trip — hotels, transport, guide and plans handled end to end.
  • There are lovely beach hotels and lodges, but they are individual places, not sprawling resort complexes.
  • A fully-arranged private trip gets you close to the ease of all-inclusive, with far more of the real country.
  • Cost depends on group size, season, hotel standard and distance, so we quote each trip honestly.
  • Tell us your dates and group size and we will build a trip with as much handled for you as you like.

The honest answer

Let us be straight with you: Ghana is not an all-inclusive resort destination in the way Cancun or Sharm el-Sheikh are. You will not find rows of giant wristband resorts with swim-up bars and endless buffets. If that specific format is the whole point of your holiday, Ghana may not be the right fit, and we would rather say so now.

But here is the thing — that is a large part of why Ghana is so rewarding. It is a real, welcoming country you actually get to experience, not a walled compound. As a Kasoa-based team who arrange these trips every week, we can give you almost all the ease people want from all-inclusive, without shutting you away from the place itself. Our why visit Ghana guide sets the scene.

What "all-inclusive" can mean here

The closest thing to all-inclusive in Ghana is a fully-arranged trip. Instead of one property covering everything, we bundle the pieces for you: hotels booked, airport pickup arranged, a private vehicle and driver-guide throughout, entry fees and a clear day-by-day plan. You arrive to a trip that simply works, without juggling logistics yourself.

Some individual hotels and lodges do offer packages that include meals or activities, and where those suit you we are glad to use them. For a higher standard of stay throughout, our luxury Ghana travel guide is worth a read. The point is that everything can be handled — it just is not all under one resort roof. In practice, most people find they prefer it this way: you eat where the food is genuinely good rather than at the same buffet each night, and you actually meet Ghanaians instead of only fellow guests. The convenience is real, but so is the sense that you have been somewhere.

Beaches and resort-style stays, realistically

Ghana does have a lovely coastline and some genuinely relaxing places to stay by the sea. Spots like Busua on the western coast offer laid-back beach hotels where you can slow right down for a few days between exploring. They are individual, characterful places rather than mega-resorts, and that is their charm.

You can absolutely build a trip with plenty of beach time — we often blend a few restful coastal days with culture and nature elsewhere. Our Ghana beaches guide runs through the options, so you can picture where a resort-style stretch might fit into your week. A common shape is three or four gentle days by the sea in the middle of a trip, bookended by Cape Coast, Kakum and Accra, so you get the relaxation without missing the sights that make the country worth the journey.

How a fully-arranged trip works

In practice, a fully-arranged trip means we plan the route, book the hotels, and put a private vehicle and driver-guide with you from arrival to departure. Your driver meets you, knows the plan, handles the roads and the timings, and stays with you throughout. You are not tied to a single site — you can be relaxing by the coast one day and at Cape Coast or Kakum the next.

This gives you the ease people want from all-inclusive, with far more of the real country and the freedom to change plans on the day. For a sense of how a week can flow this way, see our 7-day Ghana itinerary.

What it costs, honestly

We do not publish a fixed "all-inclusive" price, because a bundled trip genuinely varies with your group size, the season, the standard of hotel you choose and how far you travel. A larger group spreads the cost of the vehicle and guide, so the per-person figure often comes down. The fairest thing we can do is quote your actual trip.

Be honest with us about your budget and how much you want handled, and we will be honest about what is realistic. There is no obligation to book from a quote. Because there is no single resort price to hide behind, a bundled trip is actually more transparent — we can show you what each part costs and where you could trim or upgrade. For general budgeting first, our Ghana trip cost breakdown and where to stay in Accra guides give a useful picture.

Plan your fully-arranged Ghana trip

Tell us your dates, how many of you there are, the standard of hotel you like and how much you would rather leave to us. We will draft a plan with as much bundled in as you want, and reply with a clear, tailored quote — nothing hidden.

Questions people ask

Does Ghana have all-inclusive resorts?

Not in the mass-resort sense of the Caribbean or Mediterranean. There are lovely individual beach hotels and lodges, some with meal or activity packages, but no sprawling wristband resorts. What we offer instead is a fully-arranged trip with everything handled for you.

How do I book a fully-arranged trip?

Send us your dates, group size, hotel standard and how much you want handled. We reply with a draft plan and a tailored quote, adjust it with you, and confirm once you are happy. You are never committed before that.

What can be included?

As much as you like — hotels, airport pickup, a private vehicle and driver-guide throughout, entry fees and a day-by-day plan. Meals can be included where a hotel offers it. Your quote will spell out exactly what is covered.

Can it be customised?

Completely. A fully-arranged trip is built around you, so you can add beach days, swap sites, choose your hotel standard and change plans on the day. Nothing is locked into one resort.

Is a deposit required?

Booking terms depend on the trip, the hotels and the season, so we confirm the current details when you enquire rather than state a figure here. We are always clear before you commit.

Is it safe and reliable?

We are a local team running these routes every week, with air-conditioned vehicles and experienced driver-guides. For general guidance see our Ghana safety guide, and ask us anything about your specific plan.

Written by Abdul, founder of Ghana Travel & TourI started this agency in Kasoa Opeikuma, Central Region, in 2020. Our drivers meet flights at Kotoka, our homes are the ones we let in Kasoa, and the routes described here are the ones we run ourselves.

What I know about Ghanaian travel comes from doing it: filing passport and visa applications, booking flights and hotels, collecting people from arrivals at two in the morning, and driving the Accra, Tema, Cape Coast and Kumasi runs week after week. Where this guide describes how something works, it is because we have done it.

Rules, fees and timetables in Ghana change. I have deliberately not quoted figures that go stale — where a number matters I name the office to confirm it with. If you spot something out of date, tell me and we will fix it.
