The short answer

  • We organise company retreats and team-building trips end to end, from venue to vehicles to daily running order.
  • Venues range from Accra conference hotels to Aburi's cool hills and the beach resorts along the coast.
  • Activities mix meeting time with shared experiences: cooking, drumming, castle visits, canopy walks and beach days.
  • Transport is the hidden make-or-break; we run air-conditioned minibuses so nobody is left waiting.
  • Cost depends on group size, nights, venue standard and how far you travel, and we quote per group.
  • Send your dates, headcount and goals and we will propose a venue, a programme and a clear budget.

What we actually organise

A good retreat looks effortless to the people attending and is anything but behind the scenes. We take the whole thing off your plate: the venue and meeting space, the accommodation, the meals, the activities and every transfer in between. You get one point of contact and a single running order rather than a dozen suppliers to chase.

As a Kasoa-based team who move groups around Ghana every week, we know which hotels genuinely deliver on the day, which meeting rooms have reliable power and air-conditioning, and how long it really takes to shift twenty people from a session to lunch to an afternoon activity. That operational detail is where most off-sites quietly fall apart, and it is exactly what we handle. We also read the group as the trip runs, nudging the schedule when a session overruns or the energy dips, so the plan bends to the day rather than fighting it. For higher-end options, our luxury Ghana travel guide is a useful companion.

Where to base your team

Accra suits groups who want to fly in, meet and fly out: the airport-area and city conference hotels put meeting rooms, restaurants and Kotoka within easy reach. If you want your people to actually switch off, get out of the city. Aburi, up on the Akuapem ridge, is noticeably cooler and greener, a half-hour climb from the plains and ideal for focused sessions with a view.

For a reward trip or a longer retreat, the coast is hard to beat: beach resorts around Busua and the Western Region give you sessions in the morning and the sea in the afternoon. Our where to stay in Accra and Aburi and Akuapem ridge guides go deeper on each.

Activities that bring a team together

Team-building works best when it is genuinely enjoyable rather than forced. We build programmes around shared experience: a hands-on Ghanaian cooking session where teams make jollof and banku together, a drumming and dance workshop led by real musicians, or a friendly cook-off. Beyond the resort, a trip to the Cape Coast and Elmina castles gives a group something serious to reflect on together.

Active groups enjoy the Kakum canopy walk or a coastal hike; slower ones prefer a boat trip, a market visit or a long beach lunch. We tailor the mix to your people and your goals, whether that is bonding a new team, rewarding a strong year or giving leadership space to think. See the Kakum canopy walk and things to do in Accra for ideas.

The logistics that make or break it

The difference between a smooth retreat and a stressful one is almost always transport. Nothing drains a group's energy faster than standing in the sun waiting for cars that never come. We run air-conditioned minibuses sized to your group, with drivers who know the routes, so movements between the hotel, meeting venue and activities run to time.

We also handle airport transfers for arriving colleagues, coordinate meal times with the venue so nobody eats cold food after a late session, and keep a driver on standby for anyone who needs to slip away early or reach a call. A single dispatcher tracks every vehicle, which matters once you are moving a group across the city or up to Aburi. Our getting around Ghana guide explains why group transport is best arranged in advance rather than improvised on the day.

A coastal retreat, done properly

Our most-requested format is a two or three-night coastal retreat. Sessions in the cool of the morning, a shared activity or beach time in the afternoon, and dinner together as the sun drops. It gives people room to talk away from the office without the day dissolving into aimless downtime.

We match the resort to your budget and standard, arrange the meeting space and full-board meals, and drive everyone door to door from Accra. Our Ghana beaches guide covers the coastline if you want to picture where your team could be based.

Bringing people in by air? We meet colleagues at Kotoka and transfer the whole group to your venue in one coordinated run. Arrange airport pickups for your team.

Let us run the logistics, you run the meeting

Your job is the agenda and the people. Ours is everything that gets them there, fed, moved and looked after so the programme actually happens. We quote per group once we know the numbers, because a retreat's cost depends on size, nights, venue standard and distance, and we would rather be accurate than throw out a headline figure.

Tell us your dates, headcount and what you want the trip to achieve, on WhatsApp or through the site. We come back with a venue shortlist, a draft programme and a clear budget, and a deposit holds the dates once you are happy.

Ready when you are. Send your dates, headcount and goals and we will design a retreat that runs itself. Plan my trip or arrange airport pickups to begin.

Questions people ask

How do we book a retreat or team-building trip?

Send your dates, headcount and what you want the trip to achieve, through the website or WhatsApp. We reply with a venue shortlist, a draft programme and a clear per-group quote. A deposit holds the dates once you approve the plan.

What is included in the arrangements?

Typically the venue and meeting space, accommodation, meals, activities and all transport including airport transfers. We tailor the inclusions to your brief, and everything appears in the written proposal so there are no surprises.

Can the programme be customised to our goals?

Yes. Whether you are bonding a new team, rewarding staff or giving leadership space to plan, we shape the balance of meeting time and shared activities around that. Tell us the objective and we build the running order to match.

What group sizes can you handle?

From small leadership teams to larger company groups. We match minibuses and meeting spaces to your numbers and coordinate the movements so a bigger group still runs to time.

Is a deposit required, and how is it priced?

A deposit confirms the venue and vehicles, with the balance due closer to travel. We quote per group rather than per head where it makes sense, because cost depends on numbers, nights, venue standard and distance. Full terms come in writing.

Is it reliable for a corporate group?

We move groups around Ghana every week and plan the transport and timings in advance so nothing is left to chance on the day. You get one accountable point of contact throughout, which is what corporate organisers tell us matters most.

Written by Abdul, founder of Ghana Travel & TourI started this agency in Kasoa Opeikuma, Central Region, in 2020. Our drivers meet flights at Kotoka, our homes are the ones we let in Kasoa, and the routes described here are the ones we run ourselves.

What I know about Ghanaian travel comes from doing it: filing passport and visa applications, booking flights and hotels, collecting people from arrivals at two in the morning, and driving the Accra, Tema, Cape Coast and Kumasi runs week after week. Where this guide describes how something works, it is because we have done it.

Rules, fees and timetables in Ghana change. I have deliberately not quoted figures that go stale — where a number matters I name the office to confirm it with. If you spot something out of date, tell me and we will fix it.
