Ghana 3-day tour package

Three days is short, but with the driving, planning and pace handled for you it is enough for a genuine, satisfying taste of Ghana. Here is how the package works.

The short answer

  • A 3-day package is a focused, private trip — usually Accra plus a coast or Kakum day.
  • It is the tour package, not an itinerary you piece together yourself.
  • Included as standard: private air-conditioned vehicle, driver-guide and planning.
  • We shape the exact route around your arrival time and what you most want to see.
  • Cost depends on group size, hotel standard, season and how far you travel.
  • Send your dates and group size for a tailored quote — no fixed price online.

What the 3-day package is

A 3-day Ghana tour package is a short, private trip that we plan, drive and host for you from start to finish. It is aimed at travellers who are tight on time — a long stopover, a weekend added to a work trip, or a first taste of the country before a longer return. In three days you cannot see everything, but you can absolutely come away with a genuine, satisfying sense of Ghana.

It is worth being clear about what this page is. This is about the bookable package — how it works, what is included and how we tailor it — rather than a day-by-day plan. If you want the hour-by-hour version to read alongside it, our Accra 3-day itinerary walks through a sample route in detail. As a Kasoa-based team who run these trips every week, we handle the logistics so your short window is spent enjoying Ghana, not organising it.

What is included

The point of a package is that the awkward parts are taken care of before you arrive. As standard, a 3-day trip with us includes a private, air-conditioned vehicle for your group, a driver-guide who knows the routes and the sites, and all the planning and coordination behind the scenes. We can also arrange your airport pickup and help you settle on hotels that suit your budget.

  • Private air-conditioned car or minibus, just for your group
  • Experienced local driver-guide
  • Route planning tailored to your dates and interests
  • Airport pickup and hotel suggestions on request

We are honest about what usually sits outside the core price too: site entry fees, meals and personal spending are typically extra, and we will spell all of that out clearly in your quote. That way there are no surprises, and you can see exactly what you are paying for before you commit. If you would rather keep things simple, we can also fold suggested meals or a set of hotels into a single figure — just tell us which you prefer, and we will quote it that way.

How we tailor it to you

No two 3-day trips look quite the same, because we shape each one around your arrival time, your energy and what you most want to see. Land early with a full first day ahead? We can head straight for the coast. Arrive late at night? We will build a gentler first morning so you are not exhausted before you begin.

A common shape pairs a day exploring Accra — markets, monuments and food — with a day down to Cape Coast for the historic castles, or a day at Kakum for the canopy walk. But it is your trip: tell us whether you lean towards history, culture, beaches or simply relaxing, and we adjust. For ideas on what fills an Accra day, see our things to do in Accra guide.

Is three days enough?

Honestly, three days is short, and we would rather say so than oversell it. You will not reach Kumasi and the Ashanti region, or the far north, in a trip this length without spending most of it in the car. What three days does very well is give you a focused, unhurried slice: the capital and one memorable day beyond it, done properly rather than rushed.

If you find yourself wishing for more once you are here, you would not be the first, and our guide on how many days in Ghana you really need helps you judge whether to stretch the trip. Many guests use three days as a taster and come back for a longer tour later. Either way, we will be straight with you about what genuinely fits.

How to book and what it costs

We do not publish a fixed price for a 3-day package, and that is deliberate rather than evasive. A fair price depends on your group size, the standard of hotel you prefer, the season you travel in and how far your chosen route ranges. Two people wanting comfortable hotels and a couple staying simply will not pay the same, so a single headline figure would only mislead.

Questions people ask

How do I book a 3-day Ghana tour package?

Send us your travel dates and the number of people through our Plan my trip page or on WhatsApp. We shape a route around your arrival and interests and send a clear, all-in quote. A real person based in Kasoa handles your booking from first message to departure.

What is included in the package?

As standard you get a private air-conditioned vehicle, an experienced driver-guide and all the planning, with airport pickup and hotel suggestions on request. Site entry fees, meals and personal spending are usually extra. We set out exactly what is included in your quote so there are no surprises.

Can the 3-day tour be customised?

Yes. We tailor every trip to your arrival time, pace and interests, whether you lean towards history, culture, beaches or simply relaxing. The route, hotels and stops are all adjustable. Just tell us what matters most to you and we will build the three days around it.

Is three days really enough time in Ghana?

It is enough for a focused taste, typically Accra plus one day on the coast or at Kakum, done properly rather than rushed. It is not enough to reach Kumasi or the north comfortably. Many guests use it as a taster and return for a longer tour, and we will always be honest about what fits.

How much does a 3-day package cost?

We do not publish a fixed price, because a fair figure depends on your group size, hotel standard, season and route. A couple wanting comfortable hotels and a pair staying simply will not pay the same. Send us your details and we will return a clear, tailored quote.

Is a deposit required, and is it reliable?

A modest deposit secures your dates, with the balance settled as agreed in your quote. We are a Kasoa-based team who run these trips every week, using well-kept vehicles and local driver-guides, and we stay in contact throughout. Ghana is also one of the region's calmer, more welcoming countries to travel in.

Written by Abdul, founder of Ghana Travel & TourI started this agency in Kasoa Opeikuma, Central Region, in 2020. Our drivers meet flights at Kotoka, our homes are the ones we let in Kasoa, and the routes described here are the ones we run ourselves.

What I know about Ghanaian travel comes from doing it: filing passport and visa applications, booking flights and hotels, collecting people from arrivals at two in the morning, and driving the Accra, Tema, Cape Coast and Kumasi runs week after week. Where this guide describes how something works, it is because we have done it.

Rules, fees and timetables in Ghana change. I have deliberately not quoted figures that go stale — where a number matters I name the office to confirm it with. If you spot something out of date, tell me and we will fix it.
